Mommy Monday

I love waking up to this smile every day... Who could be angry with such a cute face for waking you up at 6am :)

Sticking out his little tongue! :P

Today so far has been pretty laid back because I predict the end of the week to be pretty hectic getting everything just right for Ríans christening!
I'm going to be getting my hair cut tomorrow or Wednesday!
A haircut is the single most traumatic thing for me.. I mean I have birth and was left with an awful saggy tummy and a stone over weight and didn't worry one bit about it coming off but getting even a few inches off my hair leaves me wondering if it will ever grow back again as soon as the hairdresser snips. I badly need a cut now though, my hair has gotten very thick. I have no layers at the moment at all. And an odd over grown fringe at the front. It's all out of proportions!

Rían has been out with his granny for a walk for over an hour now.. I think they must have called to see hi great grandmother who lives down the road from us.
Rían loves going for walks in his buggy. Yesterday we went to a garden centre and he was in awe of all the plants around him and all the bright colours!
Of course he loved the attention he was gettig from passer by's too :)
He is such a smiley baby people can't help but stop and have a chat with him!

I also just made my first loaf of Vegan spelt bread! It's so yummy it tastes just like normal homemade brown bread, I love it! I will put up the recipe another time as I cant recall it now.

I will leave ye with another cute pic of morning time Rían! :)

Have a nice Monday everybody!!

OOTD

Thick wooly jumper- Topshop
Vest/skirt- Primark/Penneys
Necklace- Dogeared.

Side view!
My nails are painted white with Maybelline Color Show in ''Winter Baby''
I love white nails!

Easier to see the style of the jumper here..

Today I'm not feeling great at all.. I was up all night with an upset stomach and I dont have much energy so I dressed accordingly..I also have barely any make up on.
The jumper I got yesterday is soooooo warm and comfy! The comfiest jumper I have put on in a long time. I thought it might be a bit itchy from the looks of it but that isnt the case at all! :)
The vest is so long on me it's practically a dress! it goes down longer than it does in this pic!
I have no shoes on cause I doubt I'll be leaving the house today only to go 2 houses up with Rian to visit my aunt. Rian is rarely around on Saturdays or Sundays so she will be delighted to see him! :)

Hope everyones having a better lazy Sunday morning than I'm having! :P

I can't decide!!! Which dress do you think would be best for Ríans christening?...

Thats it for today! :) I'm wrecked tired from it all now and I'm going to sit back, have a cup of tea (with almond milk) and a cookie (vegan cookie) YES, I am sticking to my healthier diet ;)

Goodnight,

Separation anxiety

I definetely have this RIGHT NOW! I'm sat in the living room bored out of my mind.. nothing to do.. nothing to eat..(I've eaten it all.).. T.V is boring.. I MISS MY BABY!
This happens every time he goes to his dad's house. At first I'm overwealmed with this new spare time I have to do whatever I've been wanting/putting off to do! And what do I end up doing? Sitting around missing him. Kind of lost really! Dont know where to start on my list of things to do! The cuteness has been zapped out of my life! I'm not getting his nighttime cuddles tonight!! (WAH!)
The morning time is the weirdest.. Cause we have such a routine..
Have bottle.
Make Rian's breakfast.
Play around.
Nap time. (for both of us)
But when hes not here.. I sleep in.. Get up and dont really know what to do! Watch TV? Eat another breakfast? (breakfast no.4?) ...sigh...
I need a cuddle right now! I dont get to see him again until tomorrow night! I have to go shopping tomorrow in Cork City in the hopes of finding an outfit for the Christening! Grr to that fashion rule that states: ''thou shalt not find what thy are seeking!!!''
Ok so I totally made that up but how true is it? Well.. I'm not sure what it is I'm seeking.. But I'm going to just hope something jumps out at me! Literally jumps onto me.. I'm so not in the mood for shopping! (weird I know)

Right.. I'm off to do sweet FA (fuck all) and get some beauty sleep (much needed)

Vegan diet.. Kinda

So I am taking on a whole new look on food from now on. Here's why..
So basically I've suffered from sinus problems for my whole life on and off but the last year it has been really bad with constant sinus pressure and congestion! It's such an awful thing to suffer from.. Lately I have also been getting headaches and dizziness.. On a few occasions I have been sitting in the car and I get the feeling that the car is moving forward and I jump with a fright when in fact it's completely stationary.. It's more annoying than anything.
I have tried antibiotics and decongestants and everything that's on offer but nothing even helps a small bit! (F*ck sake! Typical) so I have read a lot on how dairy in your diet can cause sinus problems a lot! And my diet is high in dairy products... Milk.. Butter.. Yogurts.. Yum...
I'm going to give a dairy free diet a go now for a few weeks anyway to see if it helps with my sinuses any bit!
I've bought all the products.. Almond milk.. Soya butter etc.
I think mayo and real butter will be what I miss most!! But I'm trying not to think about it too much!

fav vegan snack so far!! Love all the nakd bars! Did not expect them to be so tasty!

As for meat....
Well while I am trying to solve my sinus issues I thought maybe I might just try and sort my dodgey liver issues too...
I have Gilbert's syndrome.. It's basically high levels of a yellow pigment in your blood called bilirubin.. It causes extreme fatigue and yellowing of the whites of the eyes... I get both!

Here is the yellow corners of my eyes!! Hate it! So yucky!!

It's not life threatening or any bit serious really but some things make the symptoms worse like red meat, refined sugars, alcohol, starvation and stress... Yawn...
So that is why I'm going to be avoiding red meats and most other meats too.. Maybe just a bit of chicken here and there (obsessed with le chicken!!)

... So here I go... Wish me luck!! Haha! :-P

6 months old

I cannot believe Rian is 6 whole months old!!! The time has flown! It's amazing how sad it makes me that he is growing up so quick, I want him to be a small little baba forever and ever!

Rian's beautiful blue/hazel eyes! :)

Age:
6 months & 2 days.

Clothes size:
6-9 mostly. I think his growth is slowing down now! Which apparently is normal after 6 months!

Sleep:
Really great! He goes down to sleep in his bed at around 8-9pm and puts himself to sleep! Its amazing how good he is with his sleep! He will then sleep until 7-9am in the morning. :) Great for my much needed beauty sleep! haha! ;) Rian sleeps in his own cot all night until he wakes, then he gets a bottle in my bed and might go for a snooze snuggled up to me for another final hour.. We are halfway through doing up his own room for him! Its the furtherest away bedroom in the landing from mine!! I hope he doesnt get upset when he's moved in! (or me.. like I said.. growing up too fast!!)

Asleep with a face covered in Liga biscuit bits! :')

Feeding:
7-9am : First bottle. Aptimal first milk. I dont plan on moving him onto the no.3 follow on milk for babies over 6 months. From my research it seems to cause more problems than it solves.. and it doesnt solve anything! He will be on cows milk when he is one! I believe that will be best for him! Unless it doesnt agree with him! obviously! :P
10am: A small bowl of Milupa's Seven Cereals
1pm: A pot of Cow & Gate 100% fruit
2pm: Another bottle of formula milk.
4pm: A tub of Cow & Gate Little Gourmet Custards These taste like petit filouis! The strawberry is his favourite! :)
6pm: A packet of Ella's Kitchen organic baby food. Love these. Love giving Rian them. He loves them all! Theres a huge variety too to choose from! I think cow & gate's dinner range is really small! and they all taste very similar.. Like carrots! The stain like carrots too!
7.30-8.00pm: Last bottle of the night! His favourite! :)

Nomming on a Liga biscuit! (an occasion snack!)

New things:
ROLLING OVER! He's doing it ALL the time now! I'm so proud haha! I missed the first time he did it! I had just left the room to go to the toilet.. walked back in and he was on his tummy! My brother swore he didnt flip him over (he had tried to trick me with that before) and later that day I caugh him doing it! He gets stuck on his tummy sometimes and cant figure out rolling back on his back if his arm gets stuck and then he gets frustrated! But all in all he is delighted with himself! He is pulling his knees up to his stomach too now.. Which is meant to be the starts of crawling! (holy shit!!!!) haha! :)
Rian is also now in his big boy stroller! I got the Quinny Zapp but dont recommend it so I wont bother leaving a link! I'll be getting him a better quality stroller over the summer! :) He LOVES facing outwards watching everything happening! Such a people person.. He coo's at people standing around him and smiles at everyone he can! :)
Things coming up in the next month:
Rian's christening is in 10 days! I'm both nervous and excited about it!.. Because me and Rian's dad arnt together I dont know any of his family very well at all.. and wont see them until the day.. But I'm excited for Rian! He's going to look so cute in his outfit and he will love the attention too! ''About time to wet the babies head!!!'' haha everyone had been waiting for his christening for so long! Well its finally going to happen. It will be nice to spend some time with my family and friends.
That's all thats planned for Rian in the next month I think....
OH and he will be moving into his new room! Once it is done being decorated.. Cant wait! ;)

Pale skin : makeup routine

Good auld Irish skin.... I have probably skin the exact colour of a sheet of paper.. A ghost.. A corpse.. Whatever I've heard it all! Haha!
I have no undertones to my skin.. Maybe sometimes a tinge of red if I'm sick or having a reaction to some product.. Yep.. It's also super sensitive!!
I also have a lot of freckles.. Not the cute ones some people get.. Across their nose.. Mine are like little brown smudges making my skin look dirty! Ugh!
I have bad dark circles under my eyes too.. Not sure why.. Nothing seems to help even a good nights sleep! I think it might have to do with my sinus problems! Apparently that can cause dark circles from bad circulation in the eyes area.. anyway here is my most basic make up routine.. To cover up my imperfections.. I havnt done any eye make up here..

These are the areas I apply my concealor...

The concealer I use is the palest I've ever found and I think it would only suit very pale people as you can see.. It's hard to see even on the palest girl in the world! :P (apologies for the crap lighting!!)

These are all the products I used..

Primer : baby skin by maybeline
It's lovely and light on the skin.. And does fill in those pores... Which can be very visible with pale skin! (Great news right!)

Foundation : 25 hour lasting finish by Rimmel.
This is not too light and not too heavy. It's the lightest shade it comes in. It does stay put for most of the day but definetely wouldnt last 25 hours haha! But what foundation does. I've gone off my usual MAC foundation lately and I'm not sure why.. I just keep going back to this every morning! It wouldnt be good for going out at night though unless you applied it kinda heavy! :)

Contouring : Rimmel bronzer.
Cant remember the accurate name for this cause I lost the cover.. Which I always do! Its also nearly gone! Oops! I love it! Its great for pale skin cause it isnt too pigmented leaving you looking like a drag queen!..
I just apply this to my cheek bones, temples, along my hairline, down the sides of my nose and down my neck to blend my foundation with my natural skin colour! Ye all know the way anyway! :P

Eyebrows : A pencil by Eylure.
The name had faded off this.. and I got it over a year ago! Its alright for light shading! Again I wouldnt use that on a night out! But it's perfect for daytime! :)

Real Techniques brushes! Both foundation brushes!

The result...

Basically this is just evening out uneven skin tone that very pale people always seem to have issues with.
There's no eye makeup done here.. Not even mascara! (feel sooo naked in the eyeball area ahaha!)
