I consider myself a good enough driver! I'm super safe haha! I do have a pretty small car.. Well.. It's a citroen c3.. A 1.2 litre.. But a big 1.2 if you get me.. And I am perfected at driving it.. It's dodgey gear stick.. Dodgey central locking.. Dodgey everything really! I have NEVER hit another car.. Stationary or moving.. But I think this is down to me being so aware that every other driver out there WITHOUT L plates, is in fact, completely unaware of the rules of the road!
I have lost count of the amount of times a bigger car (nearly always a big jeep) has pulled out DANGEROUSLY close infront of me. Wether it be on a roundabout or a junction where I have the right away.. ANYWHERE they dont care.. This happens so much now that I expect cars to pull out infront of me at the last minute and brace myself for it. It's so anoying that they think it's ok to scare the life out of me (on one occasion I had to stop suddenly)
HOW DO THESE PEOPLE STILL HAVE LICENCES.
On another occasion I was on a bypass from Mahon Point to Ballincollig and a car, in the queue to go off one of the exits, pulled out right infront of me.. DRIVING ON A BYPASS.. like 75mph.. I had to jam on the breaks.. The car behind me flew into the back of me.. And the car that pulled out infront of me drove off slowly into the night..
After that accident I pulled over to see the damage done to my car, as did the driver who went into me..
SHE asked me what had happened as she didnt even see the car that pulled infront of me it was so close..
Anyway my car only had a small dent, as did her's and as we were both similar age and both has small, already dented cars we didnt care too much and went our separate ways.
I mean.. What was the person in the car that caused that accident thinking?!?!
''I see an L plate in a small car coming, I'll pull out infront of them!'' It's not like we have the skills to avoid you!! We are LEARNING to drive, not learning to AVOID ye ''licenced'' drivers.
On another day I was coming up to a roundabout.. I was in the right lane.. The car infront of me was hesitating between lanes but choose the lane to the right.. When it came to going onto the roundabout the car decided to cut infront of me to come into my lane, AS I was also driving onto the roundabout.. I put my hand on the horn and they narrowly avoided me.. She (it was a woman, shocker) would have definetely hit me, drivers side door and wing, if I hadnt beeped.
It really is like I'm learning how to avoid the jackasses on the road, rather than how to drive. Driving is easy. It's the many situations you'll find yourself in with other drivers that will test you.
As for the test I took last December..
It was school time..
It was Ballyphehane..
It was up the road to the school with cars coming from all angles..
It was lollipop ladies..
It was children running out between cars
AND IT WAS ALL UPHILL..
Oh.. And I had never been there before in my life!!
It would have been fine.. If it wasnt for the extra 1 million cars on the tight roads at the time.
Everything was fine.. My hillstart.. My 3 point turn.. etc..
BUT.. I was ''too close'' to the cars going up the school road AND something about the clutch which I didnt properly take in cause I was so furious about the first thing.. Anyway.. It's MY decision if I want to wear out MY clutch.. the money for a new one will come out of MY wallet and its NOT dangerous..
I was crying with anger that day. 2 months after having Rian. Ugh..
I am gettin better and better at driving (avoiding dickheads) and I do plan on doing another test this Summer..Just because.. Well.. You have to! For insurance!
UGH UGH UGH
Ok.. My rant is over...
Leave a comment if you are an anger Learner driver with your experiences of other so called licenced drivers causing havock!

Driving can be very frustrating!! But you will never regret it!! I feel like my legs have been cut off when I don't have my car.
